OK, but what happens whene there are several places (networks)
via which the "leaf: network may receive an Ip packet?
- routers normally advertise that a site is reachable via an interface. Do routers do this on each network to which they
are attached?
I would think so

If so, how do the routers connected to the MPEG-2 feed know whether to forward the packet from the MPEG-2 feed via the other network(s)
to the destination end host, or to discard this packet because
someone else will be forwarding? - This is usually the function of the IP routing protocol in combination with the link MAC address.
Indeed, I would rely on IP routing, to provide it only once, in fact
it should work unless, two attachements of the leaf network are connected
to the same MPEG2-feed.

Or if I get your point : if some of the transit networks for secondary
attachùent points are linked to the same MPEG2-feed : so in this case,
the former route annoucement spoils everything.

So it can not work as soon as 2 or more acces networks (which
can be the "leaf" network itself) are connected to a single XXX-feed,
i.e. a network that has this annoying property of not having MAC addrs.

This will indeed be far too difficult todefine properly, and OK the
proposed filtering mechanism is only safely appliable when we restrict
the "leaf" network as : only one acces !

In the case of just one receive interface, the above point is moot,
and we don't have the same routing issues.
OK.
