RE: DRAFT TEXT v2 : All contributions most welcome

Gorry,

I suggest the following inclusions of reference to the ETSI BSM work in the
text:

The ETSI Broadband Satelilte Multimedia Work Group also focuses work on
broadband satellite data communication, both for DVB and for non-DVB air
interfaces. ETSI BSM is further cooperating also with the DVB-BSS group,
which is outlining requirements for a furture DVB-S format.

It is also possible to envision a minimum encapsulation process that allows
even more optimum use of the spectrum, by segmenting IP packets in
optionally other than ATM (53 byte) or MPEG-TS (188 byte) segments. An
interface between satellite dependent and non-satellite dependent layers is
being considered by ETSI BSM, which may be useful in this respect.

(v) Definition of future proof interface(s) that allows use of 'satelite
optimized' IP over various DVB (ATM, MPEG) or other segmentation schemes,
taking into account issues like adaptive coding and modulation.

DVB also supports the harmonization of such work with ETSI BSM [, and TIA?]
<<comments on the TIA bit please!>>
