Protocols for use with Satellites Possessing On-Board Processing Capability

The project investigated the choice of protocols for the forth-coming generation
of communications satellites with 'on-board processing capability'. The
research centred on the design and implementation of robust protocols for
both controlling the satellite and for using the satellite as a switching
node in a packet data network. The result of this project was to recommend
that future satellites do incorporate a packet processor, but that the processor
should be simple and robust.
