Abstract
Multicast Internet provides a way to send the same information to large groups of users without Internet servers having to send an individual copy to each user. The project will investigate future satellite systems providing a the next generation internet service and the impact of large-scale multicast. The research at Aberdeen will focus on defining and evaluating techniques to simultaneously transfer files and to stream multimedia content. The project includes 12 academic and industrial partners from 7 European countries.
