Tom Jones

Tom Jones joined ERG in February 2014 as a Research Assistant at the University of Aberdeen until Dec 2021. Before joining the ERG he worked in the Oil and Gas industry building RFID maintenance and management systems and for the private sector as an Enterprise Java developer.

Research:

Tom worked on delivering live streaming video from rural locations as part of the SIRA STREAMS dot.rural project. During this time he assisted implementation of the NewCWV enhancement to TCP congestion control.

Tom is currently working on improving the programmers API for writing Internet Applications as part of the EU NEAT project. His current focus within the NEAT project is enabling the use of unreliable datagrams transports and making APIs for multicast available to programmers.
